Episode 30 · Part 2 of 2
It Studied Them Back: Part 2
The documented facts
- In 1996, billionaire Robert Bigelow bought the ranch for $200,000 and installed the NIDS research team, covering the property with cameras and sensors.
- NIDS staff reported equipment failing at key moments: drained batteries, wiped tapes, and cameras going dark during phenomena.
- Team members reported tall, seven-foot figures at the edges of the property, seen watching the observation posts.
- After years of investigation, the team concluded the phenomena seemed to anticipate observation, as documented in Colm Kelleher and George Knapp's Hunt for the Skinwalker (2005).
The Draugr does not invent. He documents.

Last night: six bullets, one bulletproof wolf. Then a billionaire bought the ranch, and sent in the scientists. Stay till the very end, the ranch was studying THEM.
Nineteen ninety-six. Billionaire Robert Bigelow buys the ranch and moves in real scientists, the N-I-D-S team. Cameras on every fence. Sensors in the pasture. Night-vision sweeping the ridges. They would watch the ranch day and night. The ranch watched back.
One night, a team member froze, a seven-foot figure stood on the ridge. Motionless. Staring straight back at the observation post. And every time something finally happened, the equipment died, batteries drained, tapes wiped, as if the ranch refused to be recorded.
"It turned toward us, and every camera on the ridge went black."
The scientists came to study the ranch. But they weren't the experimenters, they were the EXPERIMENT. Stitch this video if you'd spend one night on that ranch. Follow for a new true nightmare every day. Sleep with the lights on, if you can.
Dramatized for the telling. The facts above are documented; the narration is the Draugr’s retelling of them.
