December twenty eight, nineteen eighty. Rendlesham Forest. I was an Air Force lieutenant colonel. I did not believe in flying saucers. Stay till the very end.
Two nights earlier, my airmen chased lights into the trees. Penniston touched a triangular craft. Silent. Warm. It lifted off and left three holes burned into frozen ground.
So I led a patrol in myself, tape recorder rolling. A red light moved through the trees. My own voice is on that tape. "It's moving... it's definitely moving."
Then a beam of light came down and stopped at my feet. Objects overhead moved at impossible speeds. My men stood frozen. The Geiger counter kept climbing.
[WHISPER] Ten times normal radiation. In the dirt. And in forty six years, nobody has ever found the source.
